Ruben Earl was educated within the Tatum school system at Mayflower High School. He left home and worked in various cities before settling in Dallas, TX in 1963.While making Dallas his home, he met and married Clara Delois Reed. The two were married on February 18, 1968, at Sunnyvale Church of Christ in Dallas, TX. Ruben Earl was also baptized at Sunnyvale CoC.
Ruben and Clara welcomed their first child, Sharonda LaTres Williams. A few years later. the couple welcomed their son Derrick Demond Williams. The family moved to Garland, TX, where he resided until his death.
Ruben Earl was a truck driver for many years. Upon moving to Garland, he worked and retired from General Dynamics after 25 years of service.
Ruben was a member of East Side CoC in Garland, TX. He later moved his membership to East Dallas Church of Christ. He was a faithful member. While a member at East Dallas, his faithfulness and dedication to the church included leading prayers, collecting the offering, serving communion and driving the church van, which he loved doing. He took great pride in making sure the members of East Dallas CoC had a way to church and to hear the Word of God. Ruben attended church services and drove the church van until his health kept him from fulfilling these duties. Although, he was unable to attend services, he continued to read, learn and study his bible. He also kept the hymn book near and would sing, keeping Clara entertained.
Dominoes was HIS game!!! Ruben Earl could play from sun up to sun down. It was hard to match his skill, even though many tried. Many weekends were filled playing dominoes with his family and friends.
