Santa Barbara Benson was born November 5, 1950, in Jacksonville, Texas, to the parents of Lester Crawford and Rosalie Johnson.
She received her formal education from Fort Worth Independent School District, graduating from I.M. Terrell High School.
Santa Barbara Crawford met and later married James Michael Benson, aka Boxhead, on June 23, 2004, until his demise.
Santa Barbara worked as a private duty nurse for agape healthcare for 10 years and retired from agape Health Care in 2014.
Santa Barbara accepted Christ at a young age, was baptized on Easter Sunday in 1965, and has been a child of God ever since. Due to her illness, she was unable to serve the Lord as she wished, but she tuned in online every Sunday to hear the word.
Santa Barbara departed this earthly life on August 20, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester Crawford and Rosalie Johnson; her husband, James Michael Benson; her daughter, Cassandra Antoinette Crawford; and her siblings, Marvin Crawford and Alvin Crawford.
Santa Barbara leaves to cherish her memories: her two children, Alfred L. Crawford and James H. Crawford and his wife, Tonja Davis Crawford; five grandchildren, Dante Craving, James Crawford Jr., Joshua Crawford, Tyson Crawford, and Trenton Crawford. She has four great grandchildren, all Crawford boys, her siblings, Beverly Johnson, Vanessa friend Lauraetta Jones, Tammy Johnson, Chevette Johnson, Melvettine Calip (Benny J. Calip), her beloved aunt Winifred Hallman, and a host of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
