Mrs. Shaneen Corrina Smith Romero was born November 26, 1981 to Michael and Cynthia Smith of Corsicana, TX.
Shaneen attended Corsicana Independent School District and graduated from Corsicana High School in 2000. While in high school, Shaneen was a member of the cheerleading squad, a member of the homecoming court, and she served as a class officer.
She graduated from Concorde Career Institute with a degree in vocational nursing.
Shaneen was employed by John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, TX, where she worked as an LVN in the correctional health department. She also served as an LVN at Rescare, Inc. and volunteered at Envoy Hospice. She was also co-owner and community relations for M R Smith Parlor for Funerals.
Shaneen is preceded in death by grandmothers Wilma Jean Harlan and Shirley Jean O’Bryant; great-grandmother Almeda Smith; and special mother-in-law Stephanie Lewis-Birdow.
She leaves to cherish her memories, husband Joe Romero Jr.; parents Michael and Cynthia Smith; children Andre Ware, Jasmine Smith, Malia Clardy and Grayson Lewis; sister Carneisha “Karr” Stewart (Brandon) of Irving, TX; best friend/sister Jessica Freeman of Brooklyn, NY; nephews Jaylen Harris and Jareem Smith; nieces Justice Smith and Alivea Stewart; stepson Joe Romero III; bonus daughter Gabriela Valdez; aunts Marion Hawkins and Angela Thompson (Raymond), both of Houston, TX; uncles Victor Smith of Houston, TX and Rickey Smith of Corsicana, TX; several bonus children who were dear to her heart, among them JaKyria and JaMarlon Clardy Jr., and Shaniya, Cody, and Pauletta Lewis. She also has a host of honorary nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and coworkers.
