Sharon Denise Burns Obituary
Sharon Denise Burns entered the world on December 14, 1961, in Dallas, Texas — a bright light born in the heart of the winter season. From her earliest days, Sharon carried a gentle spirit, a generous heart, and a quiet strength that touched everyone blessed to know her. She moved through life with grace, kindness, and a steadfast willingness to help others, leaving a lasting imprint on family, friends, and all whose lives she encountered.
Sharon was nurtured by a strong and loving family foundation. She held the honor of being the first granddaughter of Mrs. Inez Gooden and the first great-granddaughter of Mrs. Lola Pierce. She was lovingly embraced and supported by Mr. Larry Burns and her mother’s late husband, Mr. Shirley Ray Dean, both of whom wholeheartedly accepted and loved her as their own daughter throughout their earthly journey.
Family meant everything to Sharon. She proudly embraced her role as the big sister to Nekal Watson, Shirley Dean, and Kenneth Price, while also sharing a special bond as the younger sister of Marvell Dean. Throughout her life, she remained deeply devoted to her siblings, cherishing the love and connection they shared.
At a young age, Sharon accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. Her faith blossomed at East Gate Missionary Baptist Church, where she faithfully served on the Pastor’s Supplementary Board, participated in Vacation Bible School, Sunday school, and joyfully lifted her voice in the choir.
Sharon received her education through the Dallas Independent School District and proudly graduated from the Business and Management Center Magnet School as a member of the Class of 1980. Determined to continue her education, she attended Cedar Valley Community College, where she studied Business Administration. She later dedicated several years of service to Texas Instruments, contributing her skills with diligence and pride.
In time, Sharon met and married Robert Mitchell, and together they welcomed their only child, their beloved daughter, She’Bree Recquel Mitchell — one of Sharon’s greatest joys and most cherished blessings.
Throughout her journey, Sharon faced many of life’s challenges with courage and resilience. Even during struggles, she remained surrounded by the unwavering love, advocacy, and support of her mother, daughter, and sisters, who faithfully stood by her side through every season of life. They were also by her side when Sharon peacefully gained her heavenly wings and entered eternal rest and glory.
Sharon leaves to forever cherish her precious memories: her loving mother, Mrs. Lola Burns Dean; her devoted daughter, She’Bree Recquel Mitchell; her beloved siblings, Nekal (Michael) Watson, Shirley Raye Dean, Kenneth (Simone) Price, and Marvell (Karen) Dean; along with a host of cherished nieces and nephews: Mikal and Micah Watson, Brittany Doxey, Taylor (Adrian Sr.) Speed, Deona Taylor, Taja Wilson, Kenya Price, Kadeem Price, Parker Price, Myles Price, and Marvell Dean Jr.
A special thank you to her Aunt Lisa (Stewart) Kneeling, Uncle Rev. W.C. (Jody) Davis, Uncle Rev. Frank (Kathy) Davis, and Aunt Wanda Faye Gooden for their love, prayers, and support. She also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, cherished friends, and all whose lives were brightened by her kindness and love. Sharon’s gentle spirit, enduring faith, and loving heart will forever remain a treasured memory and an everlasting gift to all who knew and loved her.
