Shirrell Watson was born on March 26, 1957 to Lucy Adams and Wise Perry Norwood. She peacefully departed on May 3, 2021. Shirrell graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in Dallas, Texas. She then attended Prairie View A&M University and later obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree at University of North Texas. She became one of the finer women of Zeta Phi Beta. Shirrell was an educator and mentored for Dallas Independent School District for over 20 years where she touched many lives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucy Adams and Wise Perry Norwood; daughter, Kanika Sims-Berry and lifetime soulmate, her husband of 40 years, Billy Wayne Watson. Left to cherish her most precious memories include: her daughters, Nicole Lindsey (Alvoid), and Justine Watson (Jo); son, Adam Watson (Chenia); sister, Angela “Angie” Bowens; grandchildren, Kabb Berry, Kohath Berry, Chrissy Berry, Keilah Berry, Madison Watson, Addison Watson, and Alli Lindsey; great grandchildren, Anthony Berry and Solo Berry, along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, a beautiful aunt, Juanita, and adoring friends that loved her dearly.
