Teresa Perry Obituary

"A TIME TO BE BORN…” Teresa Renee Perry was born in Dallas, Texas on January 26, 1966 to the parentage of Tommy and Ruth Hunter.

"TRAIN UP A CHILD…” Teresa affectionately known as "Peaches" received her formal education in the Dallas Public Schools, graduating from Bryan Adams High School in 1984. She was in the process of completing a degree from the University of Phoenix in Business Administration.

"TRUST IN THE LORD…” Teresa was a woman who truly loved God and trusted him with every step of her journey through the battle of cancer. She served faithfully on several ministries at her former church, New Mount Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Kedric L. McKnight. She found great joy in working with the children’s ministry in the capacity of Sunday School teacher and co-leader of the Jr. Praise Dancers. Her life was a living testimony of God's grace and mercy. She was a "Deborah" who delighted in serving in God's army.

"WORK WHILE IT'S DAY…” Teresa has had a very successful, longstanding career in the mortgage industry in various supervisory roles.  Her last position with Home Point Financial ended a stellar career that included time at Countrywide Home Loans, Bank of America, and PennyMac. She was known as a tough, creative and supportive supervisor. In addition to this she spent over 15 years working at the Family Place Domestic Violence Shelter.

"FAMILY AND FELLOWSHIP…” Teresa enjoyed the company of family and friends. She never missed an opportunity to make us laugh. She was always the center of attention and lit up the room with her witty humor. She enjoyed family game nights, other special events and sharing her DIY projects. She was everyone’s cheerleader and always believed you could win if you tried your hardest.  She would often say “No one remembers who came in second”

“A TIME TO DIE…” Teresa fought and won the war against cancer and on the early morning of August 22, 2020 she received her reward. Teresa was a warrior at heart and finished bravely. As she entered the pearly gates, she was met by all who rejoiced and awaited her victory: Father - Tommy Hunter; Mother - Ruth Hunter; and many beloved uncles, aunts, and cousins.

“BLESSED ARE THEY THAT MOURN; FOR THEY SHALL BE COMFORTED…” Teresa leaves to cherish her memories her loving daughters, Jasmine Jacobs and Kennedy Perry; grandchildren, Charles Jacobs III and Jada Charlize Jacobs; brothers- Tommy Hunter (Laverne), Henry Hunter (Lorena); sister – Felecia Hunter-Burnett (S.
