Valerie Jean Harper

Born on May 16, 1955, in Dallas, Texas, Valerie was the daughter of Odessa Gipson and WD Richardson. Valerie had a passion for cooking, family, and loved traveling with her husband. She was also a part of the Latter Rain Church when she attended services. Her caring nature will be missed by all who knew her. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, WD Richardson and Odessa Gipson; two brothers, Johnny Lee Gipson Jr., and Charles Earl Richardson (Elvie Richardson); and two sisters, Yulinda Brown and Ramona Gipson.

Valerie was a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by his husband of 34 years, Walter Harper Jr.; children, Janae Harper and Walter Harper, III. She is also survived by her brothers, Michael Gipson, Robert Gipson, and Walter Richardson; sisters, Tonya Carter, and Deborah Richardson-Coleman (James Coleman). Valerie is fondly remembered by a host of nieces- nephews, great nieces and nephews as well as many other family and friends. Valerie’s memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her.
