Velton Crue Pryor was born on December 29, 1938 to the union of Wilbert Pryor, Sr. and Maurine Pryor in Henderson, Texas. He attended Henderson Independent School District.
Velton accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at an early age.
In 1959, Velton relocated to Denver, Colorado and soon after met the love of his life, Viola. They were married on December 13, 1960. Through this union they had two children, Lisa Faye Pryor and Velton Crue Pryor, Jr.
He was a very hard working man. Velton worked for General Motors and Pontiac Michigan as a machine operator for several years.
In 1973, he changed professions and started driving trucks local and long distance. Shortly after, Velton took the initiative and followed his dream by opening his own trucking company, Pryor Trucking.
Velton enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, playing pool, and racing cars. He loved traveling the world with his love, Viola. Velton would take a month off each year to take her on vacation. He was full of life! Velton was hilarious who loved telling jokes and making people laugh. He had a way with words. Velton loved and cherished his family, always providing love, advise, and support.
He is preceded in death by his father, Wilbert Pryor, Sr.; mother, Maurine Pryor; brothers, Wilbert Pryor, Jr., and Urias Pryor; sister, Annie Pryor and son, Velton Crue Pryor, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife of 60 years, Viola Pryor; one daughter, Lisa Fields; three grandchildren, Calvin Jackson, III (Carolyn), Kiara Jackson, and Aaron Jackson, Sr.; three great grandchildren, Aaron Jackson, Jr., MaKenzie Jackson, and Liam Jackson; three brothers, Melvin Joe Pryor, Senora Pryor, and Winfred Pryor; one sister, Penetta Godby (Paul), and a host of other relatives and friends that loved him dearly.
