VIVIAN MARIE BROWN was born to Ms. Dorothy Lee Brown and Mr. J. D. Levi in Pampa, Texas. She entered this world along side her loving twin and best friend, Ms. Joyce Marie Brown on December 18, 1953. Vivian grew up and lived most of her life in Pampa where she attended McCullough Street Church of Christ. Vivian moved with her two daughters to Arlington, Texas in 1991 and lived there until 1995 when she moved back to Pampa and reunited with her mother, brothers, and sisters. Vivian and Joyce moved together to Grand Prairie, Texas in 2012 where she became a member of the Dalworth Street Church of Christ. As an active laborer for God at Dalworth Park, Vivian was a teacher for the Wednesday Night Children's Bible Class and the Ladies Day Bible Class and also played an active role in the Ladies Day Ministry where she assisted with coordinating various events including the Susan G. Komen Walk for Cancer. Vivian was a dependable member who was always available to assist in the kitchen and other roles within the Church as needed. In Pampa, she helped deliver meals for the Meals on Wheels organization and became quite skilled in sewing quilts for the needy.
Servanthood has always been the foundation of Vivian's life. She raised her two daughters in the Church of Christ and made sure they attended Sunday and Wednesday, even if she couldn't. Vivian's wish was for her "whole family" to be saved and reunited again in Heaven. Vivian and Joyce, along with their "Sister-Cousin" Ruthie, and their Aunt Hazel began a nightly prayer line in 2017 which meets every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. On the Prayer Line, Vivian incorporated the Nightly Bible Quiz and the Friday Night Devotional in order to foster a deeper understanding of God's word. In her personal time she made deliberate effort to learn and love God as intimately as she could and she shared God's love with friends and family at every opportunity. Vivian participated on the Prayer Line every week all the way up to its last meeting during her lifetime on Thursday, November 5, 2020.
Vivian was admitted to Arlington Memorial Hospital on the morning of Friday, November 6, 2020. She was called home to Glory on Sunday morning, November 8, 2020. Vivian was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Lee Brown and her father, J. D. Levi (both of Pampa, TX) and her sister Barbara Hughes (Oklahoma City, OK). She is survived by her twin sister, Joyce Marie Brown (Grand Prairie, TX), sister Donna Brown (Arlington, TX), brothers Lynn (wife Mary) Brown (Fort Worth, TX) and Kenneth (wife Rosie) Adkism (Pampa, TX) as well as her Aunt Hazel Cole (Denver, CO) and cousin who was more like a sister, Ruthie Kemp (Borger, TX). She was the mother, friend, confidant, and more to her daughters Maggie Berry and Dorothy Brown, "Granny-Vivian" to her grandchildren Tamasha Berry, David Avery, Teaera Berry, Deron Brown, and Trenton Berry, and "Big-Mama" to her great-grandchildren, Joy Berry and Adonis Berry. She is dearly loved by a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, friends and church family members.
