William Frank Goffney (Bill Goffney) passed away on Monday, May 4, 2020. His wife Letha Goffney preceded him in death in 2015. He also leaves two daughters (Ruby Goffney and Glynda Goffney); one grand-daughter (Catrina Goffney); two grand-sons (Aaron Goffney and Larry Turner); two great grand-sons (Christopher Goffney-Bell and Joshua Goffney); and five great grand-daughters (Samari,,Sariyah, Paris, Peyton and Paisley).
William Goffney was originally from the Midway, Texas area and was an only child. His parents passed away when he was an infant and he was blessed to be raised by relatives. When he married and settled in Dallas, our family attended Lawrence and Mauder Church of Christ and then he later attended Marsalis Avenue Church of Christ until he passed away. In the early years, he worked as a song leader in church and also sung in several male quartets around the brotherhood. He and our mom also sung with the Gospel Hour Radio Chorus at Cedar Crest.
Our dad was a self-employed electrician (also known as Wire Twister in the CB world) all of his adult life and his goal was to help as many people as possible with these skills. He also had a love for collecting race cars and riding motorcycles and there was never a dull moment in our world.
He was very passionate about the Church of Christ and always made an attempt to be in attendance. He also believed in helping people to understand what they must do, to be saved!
There were some who helped, offered assistance, and extended kind words to our dad and for this we sincerely appreciate you and thank you.
