Willie Faye Johnson – born January 4, 1931, to the parents of Willard Whitfield and Maudesta Wheeler in Maysfield, Texas, Milan County. She attended O. J. Thomas school in Maysfield. She accepted Christ at an early age at Union Ridge Baptist Church. In 1970, she united with Community First MBC under Reverend C. H. Gerald. In 2007, she united with Community MBC under the Leadership of Reverend Oscar D. Epps, Sr.
During her youth, she was doted on and loved by her grandparents, William and Minnie Wheeler. Her mother transitioned when she was 15 years old, leaving her to raise her 5 siblings. Later, they were lovingly raised by Charlie F. Bryant (fondly known as (DAD). She moved to Lubbock, Texas to live her dad, Willard Whitfield, at the age of 18. She relocated to Dallas, Texas, where she met and married Oather Thomas. After his death, she married Roy Lee Johnson. Mom was blessed with 5 children. She was an amazing wife, mother, cook, seamstress and upholsterer.
Preceding her in death are: her parents, Maudesta Wheeler, Willard Whitfield and Charlie Bryant; siblings, Birdie Eunice Van, Mae Dell Young, Charlie Bryant, Clarence Oges, Lee Arthur Bryant and Oscar Lee Bryant; husbands, Oather Thomas, Gilbert Witherspoon and Roy Lee Johnson; children, Linda Joyce, Clarence Edward and Bobby Wayne, grandsons, Bobby Jr. and Kevin, great-great grandson, Rickey III.
Left to cherish her memories: daughters, Breannette Thomas (Kenneth) Brooks of Lancaster, Texas, and Sherley Williams (John Simmons) Lancaster, Texas; daughters-in-love, Barbara Reed of DeSoto, Texas and Regina Reed of Dallas, Texas; sister-in-love, Lilly Bryant of Houston, Texas; 10 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
