Mr. Ronald Wayne Polk “Ron” was born in Tyler, Texas on September 10, 1949 to Ms. Vivian Verlene Polk and Mr. Rudolph Carr. He attended schools in Tyler Smith Kindergarten, W.A. Peete Elementary, W.A. Peete Junior High School and Emmitt J. Scott High School.
Upon graduating High School, he was in the military briefly. After being discharged he worked locally in Tyler, Texas. Ron had a passion for catering. He was employed at the Tyler Petroleum Club for several years and later moved to Dallas, Texas where he was employed at the Dallas Convention Center.
Mr. Polk was preceded in death by his loving companion for many years, Mary Landers.
He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving mother, Vivian V. Polk, two sisters, Brenda Thompson (Louie), Khaleelah Waalee, and a brother Salahuddin Muhammad (Yolanda); three stepchildren, Jacqueline Landers, Ricky Landers (Amy) and Shelena McGruder (David); nieces and nephews Stephanie, Angie, Kellye, Reginald, Cedric, Nini, and Hani, a host of other nieces and nephews, grandchildren, cousins, and friends.
