Bobbie Jo Washington, age 87, loving mother of six, peacefully passed away in the afternoon of February 26th. Bobbie was born in 1937 in Woodlawn, Texas and grew up surrounded by a large family, she had 7 siblings. Bobbie was influenced by her parents Grady and Christine Washington, to be a loving and caring woman and she incorporated that into her motherhood.
She received her formal education in the public schools of Woodlawn, Texas, after which, she relocated to Dallas, Texas. Bobbie worked as a meat processor and meat packer, displaying dedication to her work and a knack for solving problems.
Bobbie truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures-listening to the Blues, spending time with family and friends and cooking. She had an uncanny ability to turn ordinary dishes into a decadent masterpiece. Bobbie will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Faye, parents Grady Sr. and Christine, 3 brothers (VS, Grady Jr. and George) and 2 sisters (Charlene and Willie Mae “Sister”).
Bobbie leaves to cherish her memories: 2 daughters, Sharon Jones (Homer) and Sandra Washington; 3 sons, Antawyn Washington, Vincent Washington (Yvonne) and Cedric Collins Sr. (Tonya); 2 sisters, Bertha Wilson and Eva Jo Johnson; along with grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and a host of nephews and nieces.
