Darcy Mitrophan MacAndrew Woodroffe was born November 7, 1947, the first of ten children of Seon and Dorothy Woodroffe. His siblings are Gloria (deceased), Maxine, Trevor, Annette Angela, Ronald, Juanette aka Judy, Louis, Devere and Wayne Woodroffe. Darcy was born and raised in Ealing Grove, Christ Church Barbados, WI. His siblings affectionately referred to him as "Quacks".
Darcy from an early age was very supportive of his family, filling the role of providing financial support for his younger siblings. Darcy always had strong work ethic, he valued education and was always interested in learning something new. So, at the age of 50 pursued a new career, successfully becoming a certified Master Plumber in the state of Georgia. Darcy was a self though Jack of all trades. In his younger years, Darcy practiced Karate and Judo. He loved car racing, dancing, country and western music. He was a good story teller and had a great sense of humor.
In 1975, he married Katheann Marcia (nee Ifill). From this union three children were born. Darcy encouraged his children to focus on their education and was proud of their accomplishments. Kim is a Special Projects Officer with the Social Security Administration in New York, Amanda is a nuclear Medicine Technologist at St John's Episcopal Hospital in New York and Kofi is a Police Research Specialist with the Dallas Police Department.
Darcy is a member of the Gathering of Christ Church where he attended faithfully and was described to be "a joy to be around"; he will be greatly missed by his church family.
Darcy leaves to cherish his memory his children Kim, Amanda ad Kofi. His grandchildren Brandon and Audrey , his eight siblings, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends in Barbados, England, Africa, New York, Georgia ad Texas. Darcy was loved by many and will truly be missed.
