Johnny Earl Lewis, affectionally known as Slow, was called home to Glory on August 13, 2020. He was born to the Parentage of the late Jeston Lewis Sr. and Jannie Mae Randle Lewis. He professed Christ at an early age while a member of Lone Star Baptist Church, under the pastorage of Pastor Charles Reed. He later united with Community First Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor C. H. Gerald. He currently was a member of Greater Community First Baptist church under the leadership of Dr. LaCedric D. Williams. He attended school in the Dallas Independent School District and was a graduate of L. G. Pinkston High School, class of 1970. He received further education at Navarro Junior College and Control Data Institute of Technology.
Johnny’s hobbies included fishing, barbequing and working on cars. He was employed at Mostek Technologies and Community First Baptist Church.
Johnny was proceeded in death by both parents, Jeston Lewis Sr. and Jannie Mae Lewis.
He leaves to cherish his memories brothers Jeston Lewis Jr. (Bill) and (Dorothy), Reginald E. Lewis (Linda), Michael A. Lewis, Bruce E. Lewis (Linda) and sister Angela A. Lewis Mims. Nieces, Jocelyn Lewis Starling, Constance Mims, Kawanise Mims, Adriana Lewis, Brittany Lewis and Brandy Lewis; one nephew, Bruce Lewis Jr. He also leaves three great nieces; Jada Starling, Jamya Leonard and Bailee Leonard. Also, two great nephews; Kederian Brooks and Joshua Leonard II. One aunt, Vera Bell Randle and one uncle, L.C. Randle, and a host of other relatives and friends.
