During Jeffrey’s junior year he was promoted to the top lab / jazz band as their primary drummer. During that year, the lab band traveled the nation winning several awards while attending various jazz festivals. This travel afforded Jeffrey to be recognized by Down Beat Magazine as the top drummer in the nation during his junior and senior year in high school (1987-1988). Jeffrey was awarded a full scholarship to the University of Southern Florida in their music department but declined the offer to pursue other endeavors. Jeffrey eventually earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology (Magna Cum Laude) from Strayer University and was working towards completing his Master’s Degree at the time of his illness.
