Vernell Fisher was the second child of the late Eddie Mae Mitchell. He was born May 4, 1948, and departed this life March 22, 2024. Vernell was educated in Dallas, Texas. He attended Phyllis Wheatley and St. Anthony Catholic elementary schools, graduated from James Madison High School, received his Associate of Applied Science in Electronics from DeVry Institute of Technology, and his Bachelor of Science from Paul Quinn College.
Vernell was a member and Deacon of Sure Foundation Baptist Church. He was a loving and kind man of few words with a fervent heart for Jesus.
Vernell Fisher was preceded in death by his mother, aunts, uncle, grandmother, ex-wife, Gloris Ann, brother and stepson, Dwight Coleman (Tiffany). He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Minnie Fisher; 2 daughters, Sharon and Kimberly Fisher; stepdaughter, Mercedes Kuykendall; 11 grandchildren; one great granddaughter, Lauren; sister-in-law, Irma “Nell” Iles (Nelson), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He will be sorely missed by all that knew and loved him.
“For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God,
than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.” -Psalm 84:10
